Where Opportunity Knox, a regional initiative to connect transitioning Veterans and/or military spouses to jobs and the Greater Louisville Region, continues to connect Veteran talent to our region and here is another great example of the quality of individuals available!
Meet Michael Carter, a Where Opportunity Knox client who recently went through the job search process. Michael was born and raised in Rockford, IL and enlisted in the United States Army as a M1A1 tank crewmember at the age of 17. He served honorably from June of 1990 to July 2012 and after his retirement in 2012, he received his B.S. in Business Administration from McKendree University.
During Michael’s job search he was introduced to the Kentucky Indiana Exchange (KIX) by a friend and learned about Where Opportunity Knox. Michael then contacted one of our Regional Veteran Connectors, who assisted him in translating his military experience and effectively presenting it on his resume and cover letter.
His revised resume helped Michael to land a recruiting position in the area and he is now working for Baton as an HR Assistant. Michael was very satisfied with the services provided by Where Opportunity Knox and looks forward to paying it forward.
